Community Foundation of Louisa County

The Community Foundation of Louisa County has named Paula Buckman as their Executive Director. As director, Paula will be responsible for advancing the Foundation’s mission of building endowment funds that benefit Louisa County. Endowment funds benefit county non-profit organizations and quality of life initiatives.

Paula served on the Community Foundation of Louisa County board since it’s inception in 2005. Buckman says “I’m excited about the challenge. The Community Foundation has distributed $350,000 in grants in the county over the past five years, and yet, many people do not know about the Foundation or the many benefits of investing in or establishing a Foundation endowment fund.”

Buckman says that the State of Iowa encourages this investment by offering a 25% Iowa tax credit for contributions made to a Community Foundation Fund. Individuals can contribute to the Louisa County general fund or set up for specific donor directed fund such as a scholarship fund. The Community Foundation of Louisa County is an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Great River Bend.
